01 / The beginnings
It started
at home.
Natty’s story begins in Portsmouth in 2017. A London black cab driver turned home cook, he began making food from his own kitchen. Soon, more and more people were arriving at the house to collect it.
The next move was a market stall on Commercial Road. It meant leaving the home kitchen behind, but also meeting customers face to face: serving a meal, sharing a conversation and watching people discover the food.
For Natty, the ambition reaches beyond the plate. His cooking is a way of sharing Jamaican culture — its flavours, its music and its spirit.
At the centre of it all is what Natty’s calls “fambily”. Food as a reason to gather. A connection with the people around the table. That is the story we’re welcoming into Good Things.
